Fwrap: reusable fabric wrap
Founded by Jennie Chuang in 2007, Fwrap is focused on popularizing fabric gift wraps. Pronounced “frap” - it is a shortened way of saying fabric wrap.
The idea of using fabric as a gift wrap is not a new concept. The Japanese have been doing it for several thousand years. Called furoshiki, the wrappings are usually tied in intricate ways. I wanted to improve on this idea by making innovative designs that could be easily opened and closed. Intricate knots are nice, but they are, well, intricate. Also, our products are made from thicker fabric, giving the present added protection and allowing the wrappings to be reused again and again.
Fwrap was also started to share the love of fabric gift wrapping. In the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) and blog posts, visitors can see how to make unique wrappings by using some of your every day household items.
Fwrap: elegant, easy, earth friendly
Simplify. By choosing Fwrap, you are saying that care was taken, not only in choosing your gift, but also in fwrapping it.
We live in a disposal society, where things are made to be used just once. As a consequence, we are the worlds leading garbage producer. Each year, we generate 4 million tons of garbage from gift paper alone. By using fwrap, you reduce the waste that goes into the land fill in favor of promoting more sustainable practices.
Fwrap: sourced and produced locally, whenever possible
Our products are American-made: For almost all our product line, we were able to source from the United States; however, the mohair flowers and elastics are from Vietnam and India, respectively.
Since 2008, we incorporate Eco-fi, fabric made from recycled PET plastic bottles, into our product line. We try to minimize packaging and use recycled materials.
All our product photography was taken by David Belda at Belda Photography in Emeryville, California. Please visit www.belda.com to see more of his work.
We know with whom we do business and feel good about our relationships.
Fwrap: making people feel special
Fwrap’s birth came from my desire to make people feel special. I have always enjoyed making invitations and gift wrapping. Even on a limited income, the presentation need not suffer.
For example, we still sew the packaging for most of our retail orders. This special touch makes our customers feel like they too are getting a gift when they receive their orders.
The matching book cover came about because I love to read, and not necessarily the classics. Many a time I wished for a discrete book cover when enjoying a trashy novel.
When I started working on the designs, I wanted to make covers that were classic and simple, nothing too quilted, padded or busy. Our book covers were the result. We offer a wide selection of covers - used for series romance novels to composition notebook. In all, we have six different sizes.
THANK YOU for your interest in Fwrap. It is sincerely appreciated.
